Manchester has one of the oldest and largest Chinese communities in the UK, with a fabulous corner of the city dedicated to Chinese culture and food. With a return tram ride to the heart of the celebrations, we can experience the Chinese New Year as 2019, the Chinese Year of the Pig, gets underway! With lots going on across the city, from food festivals to parades and parties. The much-loved dragon parade through the streets of Manchester is back for 2019, the giant dragon will be joined by traditional lion dancers, martial artists, a funfair, and food stalls. There will be a range of Chinese-inspired entertainment & a finale of fireworks in Chinatown. During our visit to Manchester, we have also included an admission to the BBC tour at MediaCityUK. Step inside the exciting world of broadcasting for an informative behind the scenes interactive tour. And on our return journey we shall visit the award winning Bury Market.
