This waterways holiday is based in an area of
outstanding beauty, proud of its’ heritage, with iconic
landmarks and beautiful Highland scenery. There are
many highlights throughout this tour, including a visit
to The Kelpies, 30 metre high steel horse head
sculptures, standing next to a new extension to the
Forth and Clyde Canal, created to pay homage to the
horsepower which built Industrial Scotland. Another
testament to Scotland’s heritage is the awardwinning
Falkirk Wheel, where we board a boat to be
hoisted 35 metres on the world’s only rotating
boatlift. Continuing the boat theme, we head towards
Edinburgh joining a cruise under the three famous
bridges and head out to Inchcolm Island to view the
medieval Inchcolm Abbey. We will also head over the
Trossachs to the beautiful Loch Katrine, made
famous by Sir Walter Scott’s vivid descriptions of the
surrounding hills, mountains & woodlands, for a
scenic cruise onboard the “Sir Walter Scott”
Steamship. Of course, no visit to Scotland would be
complete without a “Wee Dram”, so we have
included a tour of the Famous Grouse Whiskey
Distillery at Crieff, “The Distillery Experience” will
take you through the traditional art of making the
Glenturret single malt whisky which uses hand
operated, time honoured methods. Distillery hosts
will also bring to life the history and heritage of one
of Scotland's most iconic whisky brands The Famous
Grouse, rounded off with a sampling session!
